I'm glad to see that this long overlooked problem is finally getting some attention. As more and more Americans flock to oceans, lakes, and rivers; this issue is more important than ever.

While notifying the public when raw sewage is discharged is a step in the right direction, the ultimate goal should be to eliminate these discharges altogether. Remember: we don't inherit the earth from our parents, we borrow it from our children. What is a better gift than safe, clean water for future generations to enjoy?
